Voyager Estate 40 years

For decades, Voyager Estate has been on a journey. Exploring its unique corner of Margaret River through its craft. Ambitiously looking to move the whole region forward. Always committed to reflecting its distinctive place in their wines. To celebrate 40 years of this commitment, we needed to reflect where the brand had come from… and where it was going next.

It began with a shovel

Decades ago, on a small plot of land in the Margaret River, the first seeds were planted—literally and figuratively—with an ambition to help grow the region’s budding wine growing community. Since this early vanguard, the patches of bare dirt have given way to sensational vineyards—providing the opportunity to create wines of uncompromising
precision and elegance that tell a unique story of place.

In the forty years since, Voyager Estate had evolved—resulting in a new, shared ambition to take the business to the next level. This important milestone—and the next chapter of the story—deserved a celebration that would reflect this pivotal shift.

Heritage. Growth. Evolution.

The 40th celebrations comprised a series of immersive masterclass experiences for media and trade, culminating in the elegant, black-tie event ‘Big Micks’, in honour of the Estate’s founder, Michael Wright. A distinctive event brand mark—a tree cross section featuring 40 concentric rings representing 40 years—was developed to reflect the Voyager Estate heritage, growth and evolution and reflected the elegant beauty and provenance of the Margaret River.

The resulting design language conveyed both the exclusive nature of the events, and the raw, authentic beauty of the place—and became an important element of the storytelling approach.

Applied across various pieces of event and promotional—including a short documentary piece that authentically captured the spirit, values, and culture of Voyager Estate—the 40th celebration creative acted as a reminder of the brand’s origins while also becoming powerful signifier for change, evolution and the new path ahead for Voyager Estate.

Leveraging both our knowledge and understanding of brand experiences and events, and our expertise in working with wine brands, made us the perfect partner for this significant milestone event.

A distinctive event brand mark—a tree cross section featuring 40 concentric rings representing 40 years—was developed to reflect the Voyager Estate heritage, growth and evolution and reflected the elegant beauty and provenance of the Margaret River.
A short documentary film was produced to tell a deeper and more emotive story of Voyager Estate. Narrated by prominent people within the business—Viticulturalists, Winemakers, Head chef, and owner Alexandra Burt—the film outlines their personal perspective of what makes their wine and Margaret River region so special. This authentic expression of the brand and place was played at the opening event giving guests a true insight into the Voyager Estate’s spirit, values, and culture.
Guests received personalised invitations consisting of three unique layers. The first, a personalised welcome message on transparent paper vellum. Beneath this was an invitation to 'The Big Micks' Gala Dinner, printed on a piece of compressed wood. Finally, a thoughtfully typeset itinerary for the three-day event. These disparate, yet thematically connected elements were held together in an A5 folder with the large blind embossed tree ring identity.
