What role does optimism play in our lives today? Amidst the chaos, turmoil, and disruption of our world, Chris Riddell—human futurist, forensic optimist, and global keynote speaker, manages to make sense of the uncomfortable and challenging world of ‘the future’ and make the case for excitement, motivation, and optimism. To help him on this mission to inspire, empower and provoke global audiences, Chris needed a brand and digital overhaul to literally set the stage for what comes next.
Real… relatable… relevant… and revelatory
Chris Riddell’s approach sits at the intersection of energy and insight. Taking what we know—and fear—about our world today and tomorrow and encouraging changes in attitudes, beliefs, perceptions and mindsets. This point of view needed to be reflected in a personal rebrand that would better connect his external image to his powerful message.
A central component of the rebranding process was a complete overhaul of Chris Riddell’s website and digital content. Developing a digital home for a man whose vocation is travelling the world delivering keynotes on the future of our digitally disrupted world was a daunting task — therefore the challenge for the design and development of the site was to create something that felt as much like a live experience as possible.
As a futurist, Chris deals with the increasingly complex issues and ever-evolving dynamics of our world—so, conversely, the aim was to keep things simple. Therefore, the centrepiece of the website build was a dynamic hype film that needed to reflect Chris’ unique mission, distinctive voice, incomparable stage presence and positive mindset. This film acts as a turbo-charged introduction to the world of Chris Riddell—bringing to life the incredible transformation our world is undertaking, through an adrenaline filled, hyper-dynamic and powerful presentation that reflects the energy that Chris brings to the stage.
It's not going to be ok. It’s going to be better than ok.
The site then continues in this theme—centred around Chris’ powerful narrative, his provocative and optimistic messages were brought to life using dynamic type, full screen video and integrated brand photography. Each section employs the use of animated copy, giving it the urgent and potent feeling of a keynote address.
Importantly, the site needed to be wholly responsive to allow his global network to access his online experiences, insights, live streams, and exclusive content no matter where they are.
The combination of speed, dynamic content and kinetic design resulted in a web presence that feels less like a website—and more like a live experience.
